Please join us on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. PT with Robert Lopresti as he discusses Catching a Rare Book Thief.

Robert Lopresti was a librarian for 41 years. Twenty years ago the library staff at Western Washington University spent more than a year tracking down the thief who stole hundreds of pages from their collection – and thousands more from over 100 other libraries. Robert will explain the exasperating journey he and his staff took to uncover this thief and how libraries and museums are being robbed of some of their most precious property.

Robert Lopresti has been a published author of mysteries for 45 years and his 130+ short stories have won the Derringer and Black Orchid Novella Awards, and been reprinted in three different Best Of series. He lives in the Pacific Northwest and blogs at SleuthSayers and Little Big Crimes.
